Project aim

Building on the experience gained during the first phase, reducing the vulnerability of local populations to flooding.

Main activities:

  • improvement of the flood forecasting and warning system through supply and installation of equipment for 114 automatic stations capable to measure remotely hydrological, meteorological, oceanographic and rainfall data;
  • provision of equipment to 4 centres for management of data, forecast and warnings at the provincial, regional and national level;
  • provision of training for specialised staff to properly manage the new hydro-meteorological network.
